yeah, I think ur naruto take is spot on and that is rly one of the big descendants of DBZ, I'm not rly into one punch man but generally I think it's good that the genre is sort of adapting by being subtly self-parodic

it's truly such dogshit I do not get the hype, jjk is at least doing the shonen-but-self-aware-and-leaning-into-it thing pretty well

I thought they did that guy great because he was cool but absolutely the worst piece of shit ever and they give you the full circle comeuppance within a few episodes of introducing him

and more broadly being the posterchild of the central "jujutsu society is incredibly trad and heinous" theme

just enough exposure in first couple seasons to be compelling and then taken out of the action/possibly killed and then reappears with incredible new character design that totally fits her whole arc and is now basically the payoff for all of the toji focus leading up to this point 😤

okay but overall zenin/maki arc is rly giving
