I think a lot of people don't know this Zoom feature exists: under "React" there's a "Be Right Back" button that mutes your audio, turns off your camera, and puts a label on your square. And then when you come back you just click the "Back" button.

I have a lot of criticisms of the Wednesday show (they deeply misunderstand what makes the Addams family fun and interesting and makes the characters appealing) but the worst sin is it is incredibly boring.

I’d buy a movie theater and just start doing themed months. Every month a new theme. Different decades, different genres, each theater would be updated with a different look. I’d just charge for food. September to October would be all horror.

EXACTLY. The point is it's them against the world! They support and love each other so much. Such a mistake to assume the only kind of conflicts they'd be involved in are intra-family. Also makes me wonder if the creators got what was so good about the original series and 90s movies.

Wednesday is fine, but I feel like it misses what makes the Addams family itself so wonderful: they aren’t superpowered superheroes, they’re just weirdos who adore each other. The conflict should always be external. Unless they start from there, I’d rather this team not do the reboot.

Yeah, I also remember reading way more fantasy and like, r.l. Stine and Chris pike horror/thrillers. But I also don’t know that I would have registered sci-fi as its own independent genre at that young an age.

It probably depends on what we count as sci-fi. If Animorphs counts, I expect that was a first for a lot of kids in my generation. I’m sure there were a bunch more kids booked too. If we’re talking adult books? Either Ender’s Game or Dune. I read them around the same time.
