Without sharing too many details, someone posted this morning looking for a vetted list they could distribute at their workplace listing orgs that offer rent and food assistance in the near western suburbs.

A lot of this is informal, and a lot of places are overwhelmed. But this feels solvable.

Fair, I may have been imprecise in my word choice. I also just want people to get help quickly, especially when the leg works has already been done for them.

I'm absolutely sympathetic to the overwhelm that organizations and organizers must be feeling. I would also ask for some transparency/timelines while they sort things out.

It's why I have mostly been using venmo to give to people who say they are helping a neighbor/classmate/coworker pay rent.
