Behind all of the culture-war nonsense, the administration’s political allies—the ultra-wealthy, the fossil-fuel industry, and many in the corporate elite—are making out quite well. Some politically connected companies have even managed to get convenient exemptions from the tariffs. It’s all of those regular Americans Trump promised to fight for who are seeing their dollars buy less because of a conscious, deliberate effort to make things anti-woke. I know it’s such a minor thing, but wow it’s annoying that LG smart tvs apparently update their software every 12 hours or so, just making the entire experience of trying to flip on the tv and watch something such an ordeal. Especially when you don’t often watch tv.
