I am stuck in a job I hate as I feel I'm too old to change. I'm about 3 years off from retirement.
Sure, I could drive for someone else, but the learning of schedules, changes to wages etc. All a bridge too far for me now.

@mattbevan.bsky.social am enjoying The Black Swans series.
Unfortunately I often have to leave for work, so hoping the whole episodes will be available via iview?

You, obviously.
I really detest reality TV.
They are all a series of psych tests on people meant to present as a game.
I reckon there'd be folks who were on these shows, who ended up with some sort of trauma.

I am very concerned about their conduct too.
They dart in & out of traffic, onto footpaths and then back into traffic. Shortcuts to avoid traffic lights, all sorts of unsafe riding.
Stupid thing is, some of the worst offenders I have seen, have been old enough to have a driver's licence!

Someone tell him that Battleships are an obsolete class of warship.
It took 3 Destroyers & a Cruiser to protect the last US battleship in active duty, USS Missouri .

The White House has been caught.

The administration inserted a photo of Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross into the Epstein files and falsely implied it showed them with victims.

In reality, it’s a publicly available fundraiser photo featuring Jackson and Ross’s own children.

Also, can I say as someone who dearly wanted to be a pro musician but fell short on ability, talent & personality, Spotify is horrible with their payments to the actual creators of that music you listen to.

Report them to ASIO & AFP as external influencers spreading misinformation, coordinated conspiracy theories etc. Both agencies have X accounts, don't know if they are still monitored, but it's worth a try. If folks end up on a data bases here, travel gets challenging.

Is such a small gathering really deserving of all the media attention and commentary?
I can't recall the nutters from the Communist Party getting such attention in 1960s - 1970s when they were a very small vocal minority.

I can't watch much of the Live Aid footage because all these memories come flooding back. It hurts too much knowing how much pain I was in and how I was destroying myself with grog.

It was poignant because I realised, if John Lennon had still been alive then, that The Beatles may have been the last act at Wembley on that turnaround stage!
I got really angry and realised the loss the world had sustained 5 years earlier.

The Wembley show was the better show.
Queen deserve all the accolades they got for their performance. Absolutely blew others off stage.
Poignant moment for me was when McCartney got coaxed into a piano rendition of Let It Be at the end of Wembley.

That event was a turning point in my life.
My Dad died unexpectedly in March,1985 and it was traumatic. Drawn into grief.
Sat down with mates and watched most of Live Aid and it gave me hope. From that point tried to stop drinking and living so hard and get out of grief.

Sad way to come home.
I worked with a guy in 1980s, he saved and saved for a big adventure through Europe using his Swedish dual citizenship.
It was cut short after 10 months away, because his Father had died. Came home to run the family business until it could be sold.
