My NIPT results came back (I’m glad we shelled out for it, they refunded me the 200$, and it’s very reassuring) and because it’s late and I’m stupid I saw the F and gasped…it was me, I’m the AFAB here. IN MY DEFENSE it was right next to “gestational age.”

Stories like that of being able to rest sound so nice and peaceful, but I think for me I just wouldn’t be able to actually relax knowing I couldn’t walk or move. I can’t imagine doing it more than once and having it go so differently like that.

Thankfully I have never had a painful dental experience!

Yeah, I have a crunchy fit coworker who had hers at home who described it as being intense and stripping you down to the fundamentals. As nice as the “I got the epidural and napped til it was time to push” stories sound I just don’t think it’s for me (neither is the home birth though lmao)

I’ve heard horror stories of people who their plan was always to get an epidural as soon as possible and then either it failed or they progressed so quickly the doctor couldn’t/wouldn‘t place it and I simply cannot do that I would die. Better to go in prepared for the worst. 😂

At the dentist and half my face being numb is DEEPLY reinforcing my desire to do anything possible to avoid an epidural

On the third hand I was completely out of ideas for this little guy, so at least for clinicians like me who excel at assessment and counselling and are only meh at treatment, this model is kind of a good fit. But it’s not good for kids and maybe I’d get better at tx if I had to do it more.

On the one hand love to have a breakthrough with a patient. On the other hand now we’re done and how much more could I get done if I could offer more than the bare minimum

Still kind of hoping I shake it, since I haven’t gotten worse yet. We’ll see.
