Christmas generates so much waste which I can't stand. I think it can also bring out a mean side of people all in the name of family. I have always wanted to work Christmas to enjoy the festive feeling but without any of the stress 🤶🏻

Our house had it's first viewing yesterday and we had a full asking price offer on it at noon! That is FAST. Was expecting a haggle. I feel like I am being punked.

This year will be my TENTH year at my airline and I have never worked Christmas. Not for want of trying though. Can you imagine the privilege of celebrating Christmas somewhere different? Most people bring a "cling on" with them to celebrate so it's a whole big vibe.

Of course the risk of weather disruption is always there but I can't remember it ever affecting me too much.

It's bittersweet being off work at the moment because in my opinion autumn is the best time. Nowhere is too hot or too cold. It's not wildly busy and chaotic. If you are partial to a US trip there's a nice Halloween/thanksgiving/Christmas vibe. Europe is also great too. I hate to miss it honestly.

A related simple pleasure, putting my son in his car seat as he dozes off (it is past bedtime), he says he's cold and I have a nice blanket I can tuck over him. The simple act of being able to warm him up warms me up 😭❤️

Let's talk simple pleasures. One of mine is driving at night. The roads are quiet, your headlights curve around the bends, the clouds pass over the moon. I don't know. It's just nice. Such a good time to decompress. I put on Outro by M83 and just enjoy.

Well I have learned my lesson and if a young person ever mentions being unsure about college/uni/work I tell them there's no rush and at that age there are SOOO many options available - you just have to choose the right one! Most schools just want you off to uni for their own stats 🫩

I mean I won't blame her entirely cos I could have got my head down and studied my way up from a C but I was 15 and believed her instead of trying. Ended up getting a C without trying so who knows where I could have been now! Not that I don't love my life in the sky of course 😏

If I am being a pessimist it was probably just a tick-box exercise. We did a little e-questionnaire, it threw out a few suggestions and we went through them together. My science grades were predicted to be C and she basically said they weren't good enough but the questionnaire thinks I'd be a good..
