Some of our staff were at the Sydney rally last night and report that the degree of police brutality was terrifying and unhinged.

What does justify a royal commission is the actions of the NSW government and NSW Police in the lead-up to and events of last night in the Sydney CBD. Any internal investigation will have no credibility.

Israeli President Herzog shouldn’t have been invited to visit Australia after his words & actions. He should be arrested. Proud to be one of 500 Australian Jews who signed this advertisement in today’s SMH/Age

I can now πŸ‘‡revealπŸ‘‡ why the Govt is resisting the release of information about its process for selecting a site for an #AUKUS ☒️ waste dump. The Albanese Govt are desperate to control the narrative. The public is to be managed! 1/2 #auspol

Last night the NSW Police disgraced themselves. The NSW government is fully responsible for what happened.

Another full day in Estimates today - I'll be asking about the targeting of protests, foreign interference, bikies running offshore detention centres, intelligence agency failures and more.

20+ punches to a person already restrained face down on the footpath is a serious assault.
He'll need some your health care.

Shame on Labor.

Shame on the NSW Police.

The Greens remain in solidarity with the thousands of peaceful protesters who turned out across the country yesterday to say Australia stands against genocide.

The footage out of Sydney overnight is abhorrent.

Peaceful protesters set upon by an army of police, punches thrown at people with raised hands, people praying ripped from their knees.

Is this violence the social cohesion that Labor wanted?

In Palestine it's still raining blood & body parts.

No umbrellas. No hospitals. No schools. No homes. No medicine. No food.

Just ethnic cleansing & genocide.

The repression & police violence was so unnecessary.

Protesters were always going to be peaceful. Previous regulations & procedures would have kept us safe.

This debacle has shattered "Social Cohesion" & is all down to

I missed this so left safely
The crowd was full of older people & family groups was not a violent crowd in any way
All videos show the violence coming from the police
A long cordon plus horses
The pretence that we would cause trouble was there from the start. Yet Sydney protests have been peaceful

This was planned. And Chris Minns owns it. - Michael West NSW Police have assaulted dozens of peace protestors who gathered to protest the visit by Israeli president Isaac Herzog to Australia.

"This was planned. And Chris Minns owns it ... I was there".

Andrew Brown with the extraordinary story of NSW Police brutality at the Herzog protest.

While the premier - to great applause - said "Thank you friends" to the Israel Lobby.

All of the footage is NSW cops assaulting peaceful protesters. They are a disgrace.

Chris Minns gave them licence to be as violent as they want.

Old mate really struggled to get off his own bike. Seems like a skill you would hope someone would master before letting them loose on the street wearing a cop uniform.

What an own goal!

Bring over a murderous foreign politician and have Police beat into a man with his hands up at a protest

Herzog's Australia visit unfortunately links two previously separate events Unravelling the threads of antisemitism and anti-Israeli sentiment will require both more political courage and more community tolerance than we have seen to date.

All of a sudden President Isaac Herzog’s visit brings his declared backing for Israel’s mass killings in Gaza to Australia. This at a time when we all want to protect our grieving Jewish friends after the Bondi beach massacre. www.abc.net.au/news/2026-02...

The delay in designating this an act of terror and the silence from parts of the media and political class has spoken volumes.
