I don't know if he necessarily needs that. But I think the frame of reference is him as a #1 pick instead of the #5-7 he'd have been any other year. He just needs time to grow into the role, but i think the role of him has been like he's Cooper Flagg.

Still one of the funniest things about Sports Twitter.
MLB analysts will be like, "I know Gary Sanchez is 34, but this is the year!"
NBA analysts will be like, "This guy is toast" before they can drink.
(To be clear, it's not exactly what this article is saying)

You know this is a completely deliberate choice that is not required, because there was JUST another shutdown and they didnβt do it then.
Anyway, not good that the admin is deliberately making air travel more annoying to try to win a political fight. Lot of people will miss flights.

The problem is have with this is that teams can overexpose themselves to win (think Rollins era Phillies) and shouldn't necessarily be penalized. It also then encourages teams to avoid the playoffs for a pick.

1) Fix free agency
2) You can't trade for a 1st round pick in consecutive seasons in a player trade.
3) You can't make a trade that brings back over 70% in expiring contracts in consecutive seasons.

Ah yes, the world is complicated, but there seem to be places that are more resistant to it than others.
If we pie chart this out in a decade or so, my guess is economic insecurity is by far the largest part of the pie.

I think the argument is that they lash out because of the economic (and other) insecurities. That if everyone were taken care of, the insecurity would be less. But when there is insecurity, people group up to get their piece because they see everything a a zero-sum situation.

Well, you're trading a guy who hasn't been healthy for a long stretch of time at any point in his career, a guy who spent most of last year on the shelf with a shoulder injury and only pitches effectively out of the bullpen, and a decent SS prospect
