This #PenguinAwarenessDay say hello to these fresh new gentoo penguin chicks.

Hatched in the Square Pond Colony near Bird Island Research Station, these penguins live on the sub-Antarctic island of South Georgia. What a loud start to life!

A plump Wood Pigeon stands confidently on a bird table, chest puffed out, looking slightly smug. Beside it, a glossy Starling with shimmering green and purple feathers sits lower down, tilting its head up as if deep in conversation. The two birds appear to be mid-chat, giving off the vibe of scheming pals casually plotting how to dodge being counted in the Big Garden Birdwatch.

UK’s 20mph speed limits ‘are cutting car insurance costs’ Controversial safety policy has helped drive down premiums to 18-month low, says Confused.com

A national newspaper called me anti-motorist because of my support of 20mph speed limits in built up areas.

It turns out no other recent policy has done more to save drivers money.

Saving lives and saving money, what’s not to like?

A luminous full moon, known as the Wolf Moon, shines brightly in the dark blue sky-the first full moon of 2025. Its glowing surface reveals intricate craters and shadowy patches. On the left, the silhouettes of bare, leafless tree branches stretch upward, adding a quiet, wintry feel to the scene.

Named by Native Americans for wolves howling in the depths of winter, January's full moon was also called the 'Ice Moon' and 'Moon after Yule' in Europe.

Look out for Mars glowing close by, its brightest in two years.
