Designing in car dependency into every town and city is a financial burden we can well do without.

I don't want self-driving cars. I want cars with speed governors and doors that won't open when cyclists are approaching.

Grimsby Council proudly announces £500 fines for people cycling to the shops in the (struggling) town centre meanwhile dangerously reckless motoring gets the soft touch until tragedy occurs.

Drivers: If you're waiting for a cyclist to pass so you can come out of a side road, edging forward is a great way to slow the cyclist down since it signals to them that you're not in full control of your car and that they need to be extra careful.

Cycling (especially on e-bikes) improves cognitive function & mental well-being of older adults. We need to make streets safe enough for older people to feel able to cycle with more protected bike lanes & low traffic neighbourhoods.

We'll be writing to TfL to try to engage in some sort of dialogue about the A2. Hopefully we won't have to do this again.

Friends of Irene, cycling advocates, neighbours and politicians gathered this evening to mourn and speak out on the urgent need to fix this dangerous stretch of the A2 outside NXG station, where a woman needlessly lost her life. Powerful to see a large group on a rainy Friday night.

Last night there was a vigil for the first cycling fatality of the year on London's streets. I was there. Here are some thoughts (no paywall).
