Council sets out vision for 'fairer' housing market as Right to Buy conversation continues Leeds City Council has added its voice to the national conversation about plans for the reform of England’s Right to Buy housing scheme.

In Leeds, we are calling for a cessation of sales of council owned homes via Right To Buy, and a wholly reformed toolkit for local authorities to rebuild housing stock to levels that can support the many thousands in need of decent and secure socially rented homes.

The government announced this week that it has tripled emergency funding for councils to tackle rough sleeping and emergency homelessness - and Leeds will receive £626,206.

This is very welcome, to strengthen our service and the strong partnerships that we have in Leeds delivering this support.
