I loved The Whisperwicks books and The Chronicles of Whetherwhy. They are in different worlds though rather than weaved into ours. These look great!

In terms of kids books, I tend to choose books automatically that aren’t by celebrity authors. I guess I’ve always wanted to have a book published but not sure if it’s a conscious decision. Kids books wise I haven’t read many celeb authors. I do like Frankie by Graham Norton but not for kids.

I’m in agreement with @louiestowell.bsky.social to be honest. I think as long as ghost writers are credited if it helps children pick up books I think it’s alright. The one thing I do worry about is if it makes it harder for authors who aren’t celebrities. If they have talent truly fine. Continued…

I have to say The Last Bear. I think Hannah Gold has a magical way of transporting you. Sky Song too by Abi Elphinstone.

Once by Morris Gleitzman is the one that springs immediately to mind. Read it years ago now but intrigued me from that first sentence!
