If you leave a vent open or window cracked they suck in the much cooler air from outside overnight which also lowers co2 in your bedroom. Single hose ones work to cool my room to 19 degrees. I also have a dual hose. Not ideal compared to split or window but they work

I used large gym fans and cable ties to mount them onto my windows. They suck in cool air over night. I also put in a portable AC unit into the bedroom.

Everyone will moan about it being hot. No one will adapt their living spaces and then next heat wave cycle will repeat.
