Never heard this version. Never knew it even existed. There are some singers that are so good that they are tough to cover, Karen Carpenter is one of them.

I'm staying with the women. Prince wrote this song but he wasn't the one to make it well known. I love the music video for it but here is an excellent live version. A strong emotional vocal performance.
