Last few years of my grandpas life was painful and tragic, so he was never online on Facebook and I never texted with him. He was much more a phone call person but rarely had the energy for a phone call.

Sometimes I just wish I called him one more time. But I can’t change that now.

Tbh that makes the second grandparent now I wasn’t able to see on time before they passed. It happened with my bio-grandpas wife years ago when I was in high school. Missed her by hours. She taught me so much art.

In my heart I know he knew I loved him and would have been there if I could have, and I tried so hard to be there but I was late by a whole day to get home.

Every time I think of him, I think of how I didn’t get to say goodbye. Not the way I wanted to. I know he’s no longer suffering and I wouldn’t have wanted to make him suffer longer just so I could say goodbye, things didn’t work out where I was able to get home in time.

Today was my grandpas birthday. He would have been 78. It’s been two years without him now.
A lot of what I know & know how to do is because of him.
I finally messaged my grandma about it and now I can’t stop crying.
