Read some RPF about certain people and now I am a bit uncomfortable watching them. Never thought this would happen!

Books. Occasionally movies. Sometimes hockey. Museums and interesting things. I also like board games and The Sims 4 but don't expect me to write about it. https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/139966605-bri-grey

13.10.2025 18:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Bought 8 books in the last 10 weeks. And the weirdest thing is that I have already read one of them since then!
04.09.2025 20:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I miss the kind of fantasy books I have been reading in the late 90s. They were suitable for teens but they weren't "teen fantasy". And there was some romance but it was never the main (or even secondary) plot.
And now I've read 3 books of the Raksura series by Martha Wells and yes! Just like that!
Have I ever mentioned I am a librarian? It is nice seeing how people appreciate libraries!
23.08.2025 14:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If people use "the Mandela effect" to mean "what I personally believed in" one more time, I swear to God, I am gonna call them dumb.
Oh, who am I kidding. Didn't wait for the next time. It's just that this person also called it "mandala effect". That was the last straw. Though I didn't say "dumb"!
Allowing yourself to be mediocre (at best) at some of your hobbies is hard.
21.07.2025 19:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Probably Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom when I was eight. I thought it was great and loved everything and rewatched it a few times but then after a long time I watched it when I was probably 20 and was creeped out by a lot of things there.
21.07.2025 19:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Twenty years ago when I was working in a supermarket, I sold our famous tv show host/actor (still famous in my country) diapers for his (then) newborn baby. Still the first thing I remember when I hear his name.

15.06.2025 13:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Putting "pin please" in your comment (and nothing else) hoping to get pinned under some youtuber's video is kinda pathetic.
22.04.2025 18:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Not a lot of things can hurt as much as songs you used to listen to when you were twenty.
I literarily had to put my hand on my stomach because it felt like I was stabbed.
Also, today I thought of making an account on letterbox but then I realised I can't be casual in anything - I thought "I would have to beat everything in competitive letterboxing, wouldn't I?", and so I decided not to make an account.
06.04.2025 21:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A Working Man was so terrible it deserves a post.
I won the tickets in a movie/tv shows quiz yesterday so at least I didn't have to pay but even then.
Why would anyone film something like this in 2025? The story was simple, but it was made worse by illogical behaviour and horrendous dialogues.

Do people really call Mary Magdalene just "Mary"? Is it a thing?
19.02.2025 21:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A lot of times when I see people wearing high heels/platforms I think "oh, so people do that in reality? Because their knees for some reason doesn't hurt when wearing high heels/platforms? Huh"
15.02.2025 07:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I guess I can shock people by saying I am i-have-used-fax-machine years old.
14.02.2025 12:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Wedding bands are fine. Maybe because they are not as "in your face" as dresses & also they have less options & styles & also they can't ruin your wedding photo. But I get it if someone would find wearing someone else's rings weird/creepy (and I've been wearing my mom's ring for a while, felt fine)

12.02.2025 17:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This "I want you to wear my wedding dress for your wedding" thing - why? Just why? Usually its style is old fashioned by then, so it's not even "I am in love with your dress", but even when it's not, why? To be close to your mom/MIL? Are you not close otherwise? Weird and illogical tradition.
12.02.2025 13:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Some people didn't watch Wuthering Heights (1992) when they were 11, and it shows.
10.02.2025 16:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Unpopular opinion but all this "they are at heaven, looking down at us" is so weird. I don't mean as any particular person, but in general. Like, you truly believe people die and go somewhere (heaven/hell) and watch you/the Earth? Very you-centric belief.
10.02.2025 10:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0An excerpt from a book. "Through a curved wood archway, Finch stepped into a hallway decorated with dark wallpaper and a mix of antique art and school flyers advertising upcoming sporting events, breakfast for dinner in the dining hall, and various clubs. Finchβs eyes roved over the walls and down to the common area, a room adorned with heavy curtains, a fireplace, and old-fashioned wood and velvet seating. Inside were a few parents hugging their daughters goodbye, looking weepy and proud all at once"
Why is it written like the description of a video game setting?
04.02.2025 10:02 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So I just wanted to add I never get it when people are not curious about their names. It's one of your primary characteristics and you go "never thought about it, I don't care why it came from or what it means and how it was chosen"? Incredible.
04.02.2025 09:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Unpopular opinion - the name is a bigger part of yourself than your height, weight, eye color. Because everything else other people see, but you only see in a mirror basically. While you hear your name all the time. And whether you want it or not, you do associate it with yourself.
04.02.2025 09:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Also her mom was named Hannah and mom's younger half sister was named Holly and I think their names work for close to age sisters, but not for half siblings.
Yes, I have a lot of opinions on names.
Started reading a book (not terribly impressed yet), the main character is named Finch. And the author doesn't explain why. If everything went according to my wishes, every single book would explain why the characters had their names. I mean not why the author named them X, but why their parents did
