Project 2025 is the ninth version of the mandate for leadership that was first written in 1981 by the Heritage foundation. How come only one of the two parties had a platform that they developed for decades? how come there was no opposition? How come there’s no opposition now? You tell me.

By the time he’s done, I’ll bet that at least a quarter of the national debt will just be money he stole.

There's a glaring omission i forgot to add here. Let's see how long it'll take to insert:

Enslaved persons helped burn down the White House in August 1814. A few weeks later, a young lawyer and slaveholder wrote a poem after the British attacked Baltimore.

I just want to live in a country where the leader can’t enrich themselves with our tax dollars, the government does what the people want, and the wealthy have to follow the laws.

You know, like a democracy.

A tariff β€œrefund” mostly goes to whoever wrote the tariff check: the importer of record. That’s not the same person who paid more at the register. So refunds -- if they're offered -- might sound like consumer relief, but in reality, they're corporate windfalls.

This creep's entire line of thought here is eugenicist trash. People are PEOPLE. You don't measure their value by energy consumption. They have inherent value as HUMAN BEINGS. A fucking LLM has no inherent human value. You cannot compare them.

This is why I HATE people on here posting links to Substack content. And the "progressive" authors on here with Substack pages might as well go back to Twitter.

The GOP knows most of their supporters are too invested in grievances to engage in critical thinking, so they can spout nonsense like this and keep it moving.

When you look at what is going on in the United States, it is much easier to now understand how regimes of Saddam Hussein and the Assads in Syria were able to survive for so long: too many people were willing to attach themselves to the figurehead in order to derive their own corrupt power.

America why are you still streaming Paramount, or watching CBS, why are you shopping at Home Depot, or Amazon, why have your money in Bank of America & Citizens Bank who fund ICE Gestapo, stop using X, it’s time for a revolution and we all must stop funding billionaires who support dictator trump

I hope @crockett.house.gov wins in Texas. I have suspicions about Talarico and this whole censorship/CBS/Colbert thing. Talarico previously had been connected to Miriam Adelson/Adelson money, and they love Trump. We do not need another Fetterman situation. Choose wisely, Texas.

Book cover of "Designing Data-Intensive Applications, 2nd edition". It has a similar wild boar on the cover as the first edition, but it uses O'Reilly's new cover design, and the boar is now slightly colourised.

The second edition of Designing Data-Intensive Applications, by myself and @chris.blue, is finished and sent off to the printers! Ebooks should be available in the next week, and print books in 3–4 weeks. Sigh of relief. πŸ˜…

It's really weird how little content there is on using env0 / env zero. Maybe because the UI is so crappy?

Rest in Power Jesse Jackson. The popular Black leaders after you are more likely to chase clout than explicitly promote solutions that benefit Blacks and the working poor.

I regularly think about Steve Ballmer talking about how his wealth is up 10x from holding onto Microsoft stock which he doesn’t sell to avoid taxes.

So his wealth just sits there growing and he donates his dividends/interest which is now up to $1B a year.

Life changing wealth just sitting there.

If you’re born into the β€œright” family, you could have admissions be a done deal for the β€œbest” colleges in the country, due to their money & connections, and maybe they’d even pay someone to take your exams.

I’m betting that’s why some people who’ve allegedly gone to law school don’t know shit

Said it once and I’ll say it again:

The sociopath with whom we’re recently becoming somewhat acquaintedβ€”

reviewing his emails, multimedia and various global criminal schemesβ€”

simply does not take his own life in a prison cell.

Doesn’t track with all we’re learning about the duplicitous creature.

People sometimes say things like β€œIf I were the richest person in the world, I would cure cancer / solve world hunger / give everyone a home / etc.”

Beloved, the fact that you would do such things means you will never be one of the richest people in the world.

Intermittent fasting no better than typical weight loss diets, study finds Researchers say limited eating approaches such as 5:2 diet not a β€˜miracle solution’ amid surge in their popularity Intermittent fasting is no better for shedding the pounds than conventional diets and is barely more effective than doing nothing, according to a major review of the scientific evidence. Researchers analysed data from 22 global studies and found people who are overweight or living with obesity lost as much weight by following traditional dietary advice as when they tried fasting regimes such as the 5:2 diet popularised by the late Michael Mosley.
