📣Pub Alert! Here I causally identify (one of the only outside of the USA) a negative effect of a voter ID pilot scheme from 2018. This scheme was less restrictive than that used at the 2024 GE, implying a greater proportion of people were excluded from voting in June and a fairer system is needed.

Crowded Out: The Influence of Mental Load Priming on Intentions to Participate in Public Life | British Journal of Political Science | Cambridge Core Crowded Out: The Influence of Mental Load Priming on Intentions to Participate in Public Life - Volume 55

Norwegian politics has been thrown upside-down in a couple of weeks. After 3,5 years, the unpopular Labour and rural party government broke down. The social democrats continued alone and now enjoy a massive and sudden boost of 6-10 percentage points. [1/4]

In the second paper, I show that parties tend to grant access to more groups representing a more diverse set of interests on policy areas that are important to them. (9/n)

In my thesis, I focus on two things: 1) the extent to which interest groups supplement political parties as intermediaries between citizens and policymakers, and 2) the role of party salience for party decisions about what interest groups they grant access to and accept suggestiongs from (6/n)
