Flock of around 600 Goldfinch remains at Elvington. There didn't seem to be much else mixed in with them today.

Big flock of Goldfinch / linnet / other seed eating species outside the house this winter. About 600 birds 85% goldfinch.

#nocmig barnacle geese over Elvington 4am this morning. There is a feral population at York Uni though so no idea of the origin of these birds.

#nocmig how are people recording/ uploading audacity clips to maintain sound quality? I use sharex to grab a clip, which sounds fine on other platforms, but bluesky's compression (I think) makes them useless when uploaded here,way too much noise.

One of those days when the sky is absolutely full of swallows and martins at Wheldrake ings this afternoon. Also plenty of warblers moving through and green sandpipers and a Black tailed godwit on the pool

Wykeham Ortolan bunting showed briefly again at 17:20 and 18:15 this evening. Very elusive, do ving into same piece of cover and disappearing. My theory, it's on a nest as a world first hybrid of yellowhammer / Ortolan🤪

I thought all my nightjar sightings were going to silhouette flight views at dusk, so I was over the moon to get these daylight views today.

Erythistic House Sparrow

Interesting plumage on one 🕜 f our house sparrows. Red brown on the breast is normally unique to some male Italian sparrows. Wonder if there's any Italian genes in there

Great be recording Quail over the last couple of nights from the garden, but even better to get a Pink Robin and Greenish Warbler!!!😂#nocmig

Was intrigued enough to go try and track it down but couldn't refind it.

Small grey falcon zipped through the field neighbouring the house yesterday. For my own sanity I'll put it down as a hobby, but gosh my first thought was 1st summer male RFF even before I realized there's an influx going on.

I find LDV Cetti's warblers are usually more elusive than other dites, but the spring sunshine seems to have made this one a bit bolder this morning.

A great egret on the flooded fields a mile before Seamer turnoff after staxton roundabout on the A64 this morning. Not sure how scarce Great Egret still are around the Scarborough area.

The Great Egret remains on the @ldvnnr.bsky.social low grounds this morning. Nearby at East Cottingwith the American wigeon still present

I think it's a meadow pipit.

A busy night of #nocmig on 1st March. Whooper Swan, Pinkfooted Goose, Teal, Wigeon, and other wildfowl moving, with water rail and lots of coot and moorhen. Also picked up this call which I can't place it. Any ideas anyone?
