I'm a woman with small hands and even smaller pockets, whose old phone crapped out on her.

Words cannot describe my frustration that I can't hold by new phone in one hand - never mind that you've done away with SD card slots.

Joined the local neighbourhood FB group, joined some art discords, wrote on the local reddit that I am looking for friends/knitting groups... and that was about it.

Sadly there are no local meetups of any kind that I could find. No boardgamers, knitters or anything... just political activists.

Is there a trick to finding new friends as an adult?
All my friends moved far far away, and while we keep in contact (daily) it is still not the same.
DnD over the internet is ok, but it still doesn't make up for not being able to just go for a coffee whenever.

How do people even find friends?

I like to buy second hand yarn from our local shop. They have completely untouched skeins and half-finished works others abandoned.

It's both thrifty (esp in this economy!) and... ok, call me crazy, but I feel like I'm giving these pieces a second chance.
