I can't tell whether I love or hate bazel. I think once it's properly configured it can handle very complex builds easily. But man getting there is a steep learning curve.

I know this isn't really here or there but it's wild to me that the bomber crews woke up in their beds, flew across the world to conduct a risky mission, and then returned home to their beds.

Notably, I don't think of AI SRE as autonomous agents replacing people. Its a mistake to think of SRE as a role. It's really a mindset that you scale by building software.
We will still need SREs but I think the job will change. For one thing we will need to start building evals.
SRE = building software systems to manage infrastructure reliably at scale
AI SRE = building AI systems (in addition to software) to manage infrastructure reliably at scale

Intelligence is embodied. The intelligence of your AI App is the combination of your LLM and your tools. Better/smarter tools means your LLM can be dumber. This has gotten me thinking about when to invest in improving the tools versus the LLM. I find I have a legacy instinct to improve the tools.

The Trump administration has admitted they deported Kilmar Abrego. He was ordered by the Supreme court to bring him back. By all accounts if he just asked they'd send him back. Yet he refuses to do that. It is an exercise in raw, unchecked power.
