20 years ago, the PUNISHER soundtrack was finally released after a 16-year wait. 📀

Label Perseverance Records even included a 23-minute bonus interview with composer Dennis Dreith and director Mark Goldblatt.

In 2023 and 2024, the score was re-released on CD and LP through Notefornote Music...

In June 1990, 8 months after the film opened in Europe, Marvel Comics unexpectedly published "The Punisher Movie Special" in the U.S.
This official comics adaptation was issued in complete discrepancy with the not yet scheduled North American home video release...

Because of some unforeseen issues, the films that preceded THE PUNISHER were LOBSTER MAN FROM MARS and HOWLING V, unlike what this advert says...

Luckily for me, the VCR (and color TV) had just entered my parents home a few weeks earlier.

Back in the day in France, movies came out for rental 1 year after the theatrical release (and another year later for retail), but THE PUNISHER was exceptionally released in video stores after 7 months only in late May 1990...

The Drago speech from the teaser trailer was used for Lundgren's final audition which was shot on 35mm film...
