22.08.2025 13:32 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I also make a killer uncooked applesauce: dice or shred unpeeled apples, then puree in blender with as much grated fresh ginger as you can stand, a teaspoon or so of powdered ginger, a good splash of lemon juice, a dash of salt, sweeten if necessary. A little cider or white wine doesn't hurt.
17.08.2025 16:17 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I like to roast or sauté sausages with apples and onions and maybe a bell pepper or two. Just the apples and onions sautéed together are also good. And I've made a variation of Thai green papaya salad using shredded or julienned apples.

16.08.2025 15:06 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0It REALLY annoys me in period novels when women wear hats to balls or the opera or other formal occasions. Please just do a little research, I'm begging you.

The Forgotten Beasts of Eld by Patricia McKillip and everything by Anne McCaffrey that I could get my hands on.
That's what I suspected too, if it's not the Inferno.

11.07.2025 00:05 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I make a version of Eggplant Parmesan with them that's actually really good. Slice them about ¼ to ½ an inch thick but don't cook them, just layer in a baking dish with tomato sauce, breadcrumbs, and cheese (your choice as to what kind of all of these), and bake for around half an hour at 180°.

Yes please, this is a very good idea. I've bought all the available individual e-book versions of the stories, and the audiobook collection, but I'd pony up for a new collection.
