See if I was in charge of 6e I'd keep the 3-20 ability scores but turn them into d20 roll-under stats, just to cause chaos

One of the design elements of 5e I find most awkward to convey to new players is spells known vs spell slots. It doesn't help that the formula for spells known is buried in the text. Goodness knows why those weren't conflated into a single stat

It's natural to be dissatisfied with what you've made for a commission. I've often shared multiple options for commissioners and they chose the one I liked the least. It's their decision to accept, or ask for corrections. All you can do is learn from it - don't give back money if it's not asked for.
