In short, there's no use trying to make sense to and express grievances to people who aren't prioritizing healthy interdependence. How can I expect white folks to have meaningful, lasting solidarity if they have no models of integrity or won't practice it what they weren't taught by their parents?

I think one thing I learned from navigating white folks that is sobering is that a lot of them have overt racist parents (including MAGA), so, they are the offspring of shitty boundaries and lack of integrity. I try to remember that when I start to spin out after being DARVO-d.

yoo, the person who DARVO-d me used therapy speak. 😭 and another person used therapy speak with me, too, but didn't DARVO me, just analyzed me while complaining she doesn't have "agency" over her life. I'm like, girl, my request was two sentences and I got an essay when you could have said "no"?

Lots of emotional unavailability, unwillingness to sit with hard feelings, which is required in order to be accountable.

(Sorry not sorry to those folks, I'm a chaplain, so I'm always gonna talk about feelings. I don't know what the fuck some of my peers were expecting).

oh, okay. thank you for sharing an example. I went through this week with a white they/them. I got DARVO-d when naming the impact. There's a lot of trying to save face, focus on intentions. No accountability.

I understand it is a protective mechanism, and there's plenty of BIPOC who do it as well (and I get why we have these defense mechanisms in our community, bc survival) but white folks are experts at intellectualizing to avoid risk-taking in community. It's A LOT.

White trans/enby folks act like we (trans/enby BIPOC) don't exist, but when we show up, y'all test us with the Discourse.™️

Whiteness in general has a tendency to over-intellectualize as a defense against being known/accountability. white trans community is not an exception to this.

I saw a group of men on lime bikes riding towards the end of the male loneliness epidemic together last week. Maybe it was them?

If you are new to me, do know that 1) I'm not here to hold people's hand. If something stings, it stings.
