A surprising number of leaders have stopped trying to predict what might happen and respond accordingly. They just fit themselves to the polls.

In other words, they assessed the information incorrectly, while others didn't. Shouldn't that failure affect their reputation?

This is what has made me feel insane from the start (among other things).

Those protests got more attention because of the election. There was also a heavy-handed repression campaign on college campuses, which are, as usual, a center for protest.
