Joined with the mass influx, but for slightly different reasons. I left Xhitter many months ago when the anti-Semitism went public; joined after 11/5 in need of better communication lines. Economic justice, science fiction, community, books.

To be fair, this one was conscious irony. Which I know you know.

Once upon a time, American soldiers handed out food to Germans because *they* had followed a fascist madman into national ruin.

How times change.

Not to mention centrist Democrat strategies (maybe not "frighten" in a physical sense, but still) ...

The Nature and Value of Loneliness for Writers Author Don Martin discusses both the nature and value of loneliness for writers and how it's similar to thirst and hunger for people.

"Loneliness is something that evolved to tell us to seek other people."

High turnout for NC municipal elections as voters make themselves heard Many voters say they are concerned about too-rapid development in major cities as they cast votes in council races across NC in 2025.

My theory is that people would have voted in the new coke elections yesterday if that’s all there was. People just want to VOTE, period.

New Mexico is now officially the first state to offer free child care to all residents.

Under the program all families, regardless of income, can get their child care fees covered.

Proponents say the program will help the economy, improve education, and boost child welfare.

We strongly condemn @CondΓ©Nast’s consolidation plans for Teen Vogue, a move that is clearly designed to blunt the award-winning magazine’s insightful journalism at a time when it is needed the most. More from our statement:

Agreed. But also see @charlotteclymer.bsky.social β€˜s substack about why to ignore Steve Bannon. Call these things out as ridiculous, categorically unconstitutional and untethered, not as serious threats.

Scott Bessent could also rescue millions of Americans dependent on SNAP, but who would _that_ benefit?

A snapshot that completely establishes -- to my satisfaction, anyway -- that the current AI boom is nothing but a fragile bubble. And we will end up paying the price.

It would be such a shame if this building, which completely ruined the skyline of New York City, had to be pulled down. It would just break my heart, which is full of deeply motivated loathing for this building

Jeff Merkley has. But Schumer and Jeffries and my own Senator Schiff are still on the business-as-usual train, which left the station 9 months ago.

That's what I dropped in to say. Jeff Merkley isn't complicit, but he also isn't "the Dems." Too damn many of them are continuing to vote for Trump nominees, and act as if all of this were "business as usual." If you're relying on elections to save us, take your head out of the sand.

Is ACCFB doing this, or are they recommending that individuals do this, or organizing people to do this, or all three? Seems like something a lot of people (like me) might want to participate in.
