I think that's exactly the problem. A flagrantly illegal seizure of ballots and/or voting machines can nullify the election in selected blue districts even if there's no legal justification and no chance of being upheld in court. Once the ballots are compromised, the result can't be certified.

In theory, if states are unable to certify winners in a handful of elections because of a “feds seize ballots” situation, and that handful results in an R-majority being seated in the incoming House, that could be a problem? Seems fairly unlikely to play out like that, but 🤷‍♂️.
