So there you have it - it's a long and dark road down from here with no sign of when or where the ascent might commence. If at all. At worst, Poland will leave the EU within a decade - currently seems a very remote prospect but at one point so did Brexit!

The left have split (of course) and there's enough bad blood that the two sides probably won't reconcile, leaving their ~10% split, potentially leaving them both out of the next Sejm.

Given the trends at the presidential election, that next Sejm election will probably return a hellishly even split for full fascism, libertarian fascism, whatever you want to call PiS and PO's Toryism. 1 and 2 don't like PiS either, but might swallow their pride to get rid of PO.

Which they *should*. Which would just bring us back to the Coalition limping along until the next serious bill, and there is no doubt that Nawrocki's role is to wreck them and paralyse the Sejm, forcing elections either way. It's hard to imagine them surviving the full term to 2027.

The one opposition party who might vote yes are Razem, though they seem likely to permit a free vote and at least one of them has become apparently deranged lately. So it's likely to be at most 215 that the Coalition need to beat.

The govt coalition technically holds 242 seats vs 217 for everyone else. That 242 is by no means assured though. Poland 2050, a group I'm still to fully understand the point of except "PO but even more loudly Catholic", have implied they will abstain. Plus of course, the risk of internal dissent.
