Reeves considers cut to green levies in effort to reduce cost of energy bills Exclusive: Chancellor hopes to save up to Β£170 from average bill but industry insiders say move would be β€˜disastrous’

Can’t quite believe the Chancellor is seriously considering slashing support for home energy efficiency as a way to cut fuel bills πŸ‘€. Locking people into cold & leaky homes which will cost them more to heat & decimating the insulation industry at same time. Total madness πŸ‘‡

It's vile. Still get some local news that's not available anywhere else, but the comments are completely out of control ☹️

After setting off the stampede in the gorge which kills his brother Mufasa, Scar asks his nephew "Simba, what have you done?"

A story in Private Eye, headlined "Minority representation on TV causes outrage". The article reads: "There has been widespread support for prominent Reform MP Sarah Pochin after she complained about the over-representation of minorities on television.

Said one angry viewer, "She's right. Every time you turn on the telly there's another Reform MP being interviewed by Laura Kuenssberg."

She added, "I respect their way of life and their strange customs, but Reform MPs comprise only 0.7 percent of the House of Commons. Yet Nigel Farage is on Question Time more than Fiona Bruce."

"I'm not prejudiced. Some of my best friends are swivel-eyed loons, but enough is enough. There are too many people with angry red faces on television."

Private Eye nailing it.

All the dishes set out - is this normal for Russian dining, or does this allow dishes to be specially 'prepared' for each individual? 🀒

Saturn Devouring His Son - Wikipedia

Late (end?) stage capitalism reminds me of the ancient Greek myth of the monster that devours its own young

Absolute bonkers...

This govt trapped itself into a spiral of complete idiocy

Also, solidarity with this woman for having to face arrest for simply disagreeing with govt policy

They have demonstrated, on multiple occasions, an obstinate and arrogant refusal to listen to facts that don't fit with their ideology. It's not the law that's the ass

Her card was very specifically dissenting against the government's actions.

It's a very very dark place that this road takes us to if dissenting government decisions is enough to get you arrested.

Fit and active cyclist here, but with knee issues - ebikes can allow you to keep using 2 wheels rather than 4 for a long time.

Misuse by some cyclists (exploited delivery cyclists on piece rate or minimum wage?) does not mean that ebikes themselves are a problem.

There is no such thing as neutrality when it comes to documentary photography –it’s a myth. You always take sides, either consciously or subconsciously, and acknowledging that is essential if your work is to maintain any element of authenticity. There’s nothing worse than fake neutrality.

Made this for the first time (yes, I know) for a supper with friends when our children were small...and in a moment of child-interrupted distraction, forgot to put the sugar in

My friend's face on tasting the first mouthful was memorable - sour didn't begin to describe it

Mk.2 was superb

My thoughts exactly. She & Starmer have screwed over (incomplete list, no particular order)

- pensioners
- car buyers
- Palestine
- people with disabilities
- people who are transgender
- WASPI women
- family businesses
- UK agriculture

'Things can only get better' is now off my playlists 😐

Once again, if you are pointing to a mob and arguing that their violence is a justification for doing what you want, it’s your mob and your violence.
