I placed my onions on the floor, under the window by the door. The layers of nuance caught their eyes, the day I won The Turner Prize

Curling is a lot like making love to a beautiful woman. First you get your brush out, polish your stones, wipe away all the detritus and aim for the bullseye. Bingo! Hammertime.

Lots of worry and misery in the world but Australia lost in the cricket again so there's that.

I thought that a few years ago but now, I think they could win the next election though not with an outright majority.

I find it so difficult to understand the stupidity involved with protesting a charity that saves lives.

No, you didnโ€™t mention it. How wonderful - you must be soooo proud. Only seen episode 1 but itโ€™s fantastic.

This is so bloody good, really unusual and barking mad. Iโ€™m going to go with Scooby Doo meets Twin Peaks directed by Wes Anderson.

Davidson made history in Dublin as the first woman to referee a men's Six Nations match, delivering a composed and assured performance in a high-intensity contest. After answering a series of questions about the narrow defeat, Lamaro chose to close proceedings with this message:

"I want to emphasise that the referee, Hollie Davidson has been outstanding. It's obviously the first time ever for a woman referee in the Men's Six Nations, and I want to congratulate her.
She has been doing so much for world rugby and our game and I think it's an important thing to say.
I appreciated the work we did together today on the pitch.
Whatever the decision was, I was backing her and making sure everything was going the right way so I just want to congratulate her and thank her for the effort on the field."

Compare what happens in your average football match with what Italy captain Michele Lamaro said about Hollie Davidson after Italyโ€™s narrow defeat in Ireland yesterday. Both of them are heroes.

One important aspect of football that rarely gets a mention is just how much diving, conning, appealing and cheating goes on during a game (look at the incident on the Juve/Inter game last night). Itโ€™s no wonder refs get things wrong when players are so habitually dishonest.

Imagine the furore if Newcastle had gone out - especially considering Villaโ€™s goal

Amidst all of the controversy, that Digne handball in the Villa game highlighted exactly how VAR should be used. It would have taken one look (10 seconds) to see the clear & obvious mistake. Itโ€™s that simple. Instead we are subjected to over-officiating and five minute stoppages on a regular basis.

Scotland more ruthless in attack and excellent in defence. Must be infuriating for their fans that they often perform like this v England but are so inconsistent.

Exactly- there was daylight - he released him. No idea why the ref needs to get involved. I understand why youโ€™re happy but he just needs to keep out of it. Incidentally he knew heโ€™d fucked up because he was going to let him off the second until Tuipuloto got involved.
