they’re definitely using social media differently. I even try to check new follows to weed out weirdos + follow back interesting real humans 😂 I feel like there’s some keyword following, follow for follow, bot stuff happening in the “resistance lib” demo, too, and I’m not interested all that.

A post left my orbit & I don’t want to delete it but pls stop following me bc of it 🫠 Friendly PSA: this is *not* a crazy resistance lib (or whatever the kids call it) account. I am a regular human being who sometimes posts abt things besides politics. If you can’t be chill, I WILL block you ☺️ tyvm

Now has it ever fully lived up to that ideal? No. But it's like Christianity. Christianity is leftwing. Just because so many people have perverted both things doesn't make it any less true.

Any successful news operation that emerges going forward will have to be unabashedly left wing. Landlords fucking people over? That's a left wing cause. Businesses polluting? Left wing. City councilor is corrupt? Left wing. Workers being mistreated? Sports stadium displacing housing? Buddy,

I was just laid off by The Washington Post in the middle of a warzone. I have no words. I'm devastated.

Waking up without power, heat, or running water. (Again.)
But the work here in Kyiv continues. Warming up in the car, writing in pencil — pen ink freezes — by headlamp.
INBOX: Washington Post Ukraine Correspondent Lizzie Johnson announces that she has been laid off in the middle of a below-freezing war zone without power, heat, or running water.

Cultural imperialism means your direct oppressor may look like you or may even be your relative.
You still have to punch up regardless.

worth noting that the second rich people stopped being afraid of mobs tearing them limb from limb, they stopped building libraries and opera houses and stuff and started ripping the copper wiring out of the walls of society instead

How AI assistance impacts the formation of coding skills
Anthropic is an AI safety and research company that's working to build reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems.
Seems interesting that even AI companies are admitting reliance on LLMs impairs learning and skills: “We find that AI use impairs conceptual understanding, code reading, and debugging abilities, without delivering significant efficiency gains on average.” www.anthropic.com/research/AI-...

Good morning.
A regular reminder: a tiny few hoard staggering wealth and own much of the media, while millions struggle to survive.
That’s not an accident. It’s a choice made by those in power.
Tax wealth. Fund public services. Build an economy for everyone - not the 1%.

If I’m remembering my TikTok lore correctly, this is the same lady who was selling bullshit “cutting” boards for $300 a pop, too.
The way grift culture is replacing hustle culture in this country is both remarkable and predictable. Shallower than a small puddle, I fear.

A screenshot of an article from The Times, with the headline "Killed by Russian drones, two bodies lie in the snow, testament to love's endurance"
A Ukrainian civilian couple trying to flee Russian-occupied Hrabovske were deliberately hunted and killed by russian FPV drones, despite being clearly non-combatants and despite an active 🇺🇦 rescue effort.
A week later, their bodies remain in the snow.
The details of their ordeal are unbearable.

Some people are a mix of the two and need to thrash around a bit before they get their shit together or find the right people to connect and build with. That was me when I was young, and if you remember my very early 20s, no, you don't, and let that be the law between us.
03.02.2026 17:21 — 👍 127 🔁 11 💬 3 📌 2
It's also not unique to this moment for people who are brand new to believe they have it all figured out, or for onlookers to believe the same. That part of the equation rhymes with a whole lot of history, and people who stick around long enough learn that they don't know what they don't know.

I'm very fortunate that when I was young and knew everything, social media didn't exist the way it does now, so a lot of my blustering and bad ideas floated off into the ether. Eternally grateful for that.

I think about this specifically a LOT. Who I am at 37 is not who I was at 27 and even less so at 17. I am so grateful I got to do most of my formative growing, learning, fucking up, and discussing stupid, not fully formed ideas offline.

I hadn’t known this. Two men who were accused of sexual abuse on the Shitty Media Men document that I created back in 2017 reached out to Michael Wolff for help as they looked to sue me, and Wolf forwarded their concerns to Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein offered to help. www.jmail.world/thread/EFTA0...

It’s a shame, ProWritingAid used to be a great tool for grammar and double checking formatting rules for various writing styles (APA, MLA, etc) I used to use it as a backup checker when I’d switch btwn styles until the slide into AI tools started to happen ☹️ we can’t have anything nice.

Yes, and this is why I feel so passionately about adequately and equally funding our public education system - some of our problems can’t be fixed until we fix the root of them. I’m glad you all had the ability to provide individually bc some kids aren’t that lucky.

There’s a reason Germany doesn’t allow it, btw. Germany requires school attendance in a state-recognized school and enforces it. It’s called Allgemeine Schulpflicht, they will fine you and straight up take custody of your child if you don’t send them to school.
