Some people are a mix of the two and need to thrash around a bit before they get their shit together or find the right people to connect and build with. That was me when I was young, and if you remember my very early 20s, no, you don't, and let that be the law between us.

It's also not unique to this moment for people who are brand new to believe they have it all figured out, or for onlookers to believe the same. That part of the equation rhymes with a whole lot of history, and people who stick around long enough learn that they don't know what they don't know.

I'm very fortunate that when I was young and knew everything, social media didn't exist the way it does now, so a lot of my blustering and bad ideas floated off into the ether. Eternally grateful for that.

There’s a reason Germany doesn’t allow it, btw. Germany requires school attendance in a state-recognized school and enforces it. It’s called Allgemeine Schulpflicht, they will fine you and straight up take custody of your child if you don’t send them to school.
