Very glad to see our joint paper on smart tariffs and services in Europe now published!
What do these tariffs do, where are they emerging and what inputs do they use to optimise EV charging, heating and other household loads?

But the reporting should avoid sensationalism and try to present risks proportionately, help the public understand uncertainty, and avoid oversimplification.

Many countries have done well to decarbonise the tip of the energy iceberg - electricity.
The hard bit is what's below the tip of the iceberg - heat, cooling and transport.
At the moment Dst is -176 nT, so a major geomagnetic storm is still ongoing. With no more major solar eruptions incoming we expect that this storm will decline now over the coming days.

A fisheye lens photo showing a circular view of a clear night sky filled with stars, with the faint band of the Milky Way visible in the center. The rounded horizon includes silhouettes of trees and a parked vehicle with an open hatch at the top right edge, where a person and some gear are dimly illuminated. There are distant town lights at the left and bottom edges, giving a sense of tranquility and stargazing.
Lighthunting was a bit disappointing last night in Austria. Anyway, I took an all-sky picture yesterday evening shortly after dusk, on which at least a faintly visible SAR arc can be seen.
Location once again Koralpe, Austria.

While I was playing around videoing airplanes flying under the aurora last night, I had my other camera taking stills. Here's 1661 stills connected covering 55 actual minutes. The bright, fast moving streaks are the airplanes. I sped this up faster than normal because we all have swiping to do.
