Today marks 80 years since the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Dr. Terumi Tanaka, hibakusha and co-chair of Nihon Hidankyo, reminds us we need to act on nuclear disarmament now and we have the solution in our hands: the #NuclearBan Treaty.

Military action is not the solution. The US must stop all strikes immediately and return to diplomacy. This path leads away from disaster and toward real security.

US intelligence itself doesn’t believe Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons. The attack has no legal justification and risks a regional conflagration. Attacking nuclear installations is also specifically banned by international law.

ICAN condemns the United States’ illegal military action against Iran’s nuclear facilities.
By joining Israel’s strikes, the US is violating international law and putting global non-proliferation efforts at risk.
