Some of them are probably capable of getting this smooth even with a brush and I understand that on a technical level it has to be recognised.
But hey, at least the conversions are still really, REALLY cool.

I look at those entries and I'm in awe of the technical skill on display, while at the same time I hate them aesthetically. It's all the same exercise in hyperrealism and they all look like 3D CGI renders from late 90s. The only category that is truly exciting is the Youngbloods.

It's just how language works. Codification follows the use 😉

Whichever you prefer, it doesn't *really* matter. People use both, which means eventually both will become equally viable.
