⭕️ Israel claims that the wide-scale demolition of homes across Gaza is consistent with the ceasefire agreement, labeling civilian houses as “terrorist infrastructure.” An IDF spokesperson said today: “On Sunday around 2:30 p.m. Israel time, the IDF announced terrorists fired an anti-tank missile and gunfire toward our troops who were operating to dismantle terrorist infrastructure in the Rafah area, which is all in accordance with the ceasefire agreement. … Now, following the series of attacks… around 9 p.m. Sunday, Israel time, the IDF began the renewed enforcement of the ceasefire. We will not only continue to uphold the ceasefire agreement, but we will enforce it. Let it be known and understood.” Footage below from @ytirawi shows the ongoing destruction of homes 👇
Younis Tirawi | يونس @ytirawi Thank you, Lt. Col. Nadav, for acknowledging that I’m a reliable source on Gaza. Unlike you, I don’t engage with propaganda. Could you please clarify for your audience whether the injured settler private contractors including from Yitzhar are soldiers and if so, which unit they belong to? And before that, maybe explain (with evidence please) to the homeowners of these houses in Rafah why their homes were destroyed today even that we have a ceasefire. Take your time; Maybe start with Lt. Col. Yochai Hazi?
LTC Nadav Shoshani @LTC_Shoshani In Israel we have a rule- don’t report about casualties before their families have been properly and respectfully notified. Yesterday, two soldiers were killed from RPG fire by Hamas during a ceasefire. Why is this important to clarify? Because reporters around the world use @ytirawi as a “reliable source” for their coverage of Gaza.
Younis Tirawi | يونس @ytirawi Israeli media report that a gag order has been imposed on the incident in Rafah. I can, however, reveal one detail on why the gag order was issued: The wounded are not Israeli soldiers, but private contractors settlers hired by the army to demolish homes in Rafah, an operation that has been underway since last week. They were apparently destroying homes when they ran over an IED.
