Pricey EVs are bound to be the norm thanks to the OBBBA, argues @andrewmoseman.bsky.social.

Pricey EVs are bound to be the norm thanks to the OBBBA, argues @andrewmoseman.bsky.social.
I grew up on Star Wars, but also:
"We're seeing the greatest composer of the 20th century, live, but all we want is to wave a red or green stick back and forth, and they sure as hell better play multiple compositions from Star Wars tonight so my plastic purchase was worth it."
one of the great disappointments of my life is going to John Williams at the Hollywood Bowl surrounded by plastic lightsaber-wielding dorks who think the Imperial March is musically superior to Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Superman, or the Jaws theme that they DIDN'T EVEN PLAY

@andrewmoseman.bsky.social argues that there's no better time to buy or lease an EV β¬οΈ
"But in the time of electric vehicles, when driving too fast slashes a carβs range and burns through increasingly expensive electricity, the speed penalty is front and center again."
Driving an EV changes the way you think about speed, says @andrewmoseman.bsky.social.
I'm not saying there's anything the news industry could have done to *beat* the tech giants. But they certainly could have done better than this race to the bottom that's been going since day one, from banner ads and Facebook bait to the inevitable collapse of SEO

We could have an abundant Jetsons future. We already have all the pieces necessary for a country that doesn't need fossil fuels. It's just that America traded it all in to own the libs and protect the barons.

"The new Nissan may arrive as one of the most compelling of the 'affordable' EVs that are, finally, coming to drivers," writes @andrewmoseman.bsky.social.
Why the new Nissan Leaf is the EV to watch β¬οΈ
Long range EV batteries are a game changer, writes @andrewmoseman.bsky.social.
"EVs are already better than combustion cars in the city. Once driving range reaches well above 300 miles, theyβre just about as good on the interstate, too."
a real country could achieve this level of civil discourse

In this house we watch Dick Wolf's FBI, and my favorite part of FBI is the line of exposition awkwardly shoehorned into the beginning of every episode where one of the FBIs mentions why this is an FBI case rather than the jurisdiction of the NYPD. It is the sole item on my FBI bingo card.

There was basically no public info about the company. Its website was even more bare-bones than the one that exists today.
But we quickly got a tip: Bezos is involved.
