I think it was. Man, that was (checks notes) a very long time ago now.

I played the Spectrum and the ST versions in the 80s but don't consider myself as actually having played "Wizball" until I finally played the C64 version in the 2000s. One of my favourite ever games, and I missed it entirely back in the day.

Wizball is one of the best 8bit games ever* and I will fight anyone who disagrees.

*C64 version only, that's the only one that counts. It's just one of those games with a definitive version tied so incredibly closely to one format's tech specs that other conversions just pale by comparison

Sad news: programmer Don Priestley, best known for his cartoon-style games like Trap Door and Popeye, passed away late last year after a short illness. One of Don’s friends shared the news on a Facebook comment. RIP Don (1940-2024), your games shine on.

TEMU, a Game Boy emulator for the ZX Spectrum +2a/+3 capable only of running a Tetris ROM.

9 CPU instructions had to be implemented via emulation, the rest are executed directly. Other resources are spent on graphics & sound. Spectrum's CPU runs slower than Game Boy's.

Very late to the party, and only a few hours in, but I'm quite enjoying myself with Dragon Age: Inquisition. Or I am at least now that I quit and restarted as a mage instead of a rogue. Rogue really wasn't doing it for me, and luckily I figured that out within the first hour.
