A charming piece, so lovingly written. I hope Toronto’s increase in native plantings is helping, too. Have been seeing rabbits in our public garden network (The Bee Line, next to the Bloor Line) for years, and many more in the neighbourhood this summer. Reminds me of 90s band The Local Rabbits 🐰

West Bend Garden: A Love Letter to Toronto
“I just started clearing the area… and no one stopped me!”
This lil lovely thing happened🌱 A young, multi-talented neighbour asked to interview me for an essay assignment about “the most interesting person in your neighbourhood.” Carolina Hogan is a wonderful artist—I’m so honoured.

I dunno—I’m likely neurodivergent, so maybe I took the teachings from church & the lessons from kindergarten too literally. I was always confused when people’s actions didn’t match their words—didn’t realize the differences between neurodivergents & neurotypicals until recently

A meme showing an illustration from Richard Scarry’s Busytown. It depicts a town of citizens going about their days. Text:
Therapist: you said you were disappointed with life & how the world operates. What were your expectations?
Me: (image of peaceful town)
Does anyone else think about this meme at least once/day? I believe we have all the resources & more to feed, house & care for everyone. I believe in human rights, freedom of expression, & equality. Which makes me the radical left, like Mr. Rogers & Sesame Street

I think it’s about building awareness about the movement—for bigger impact. It will encourage people to change buying habits, if they haven’t already. A beginning.

Noting that most of our mainstream media sources did not cover yesterday’s blackout. I think it would be helpful for us to share all actions widely through social media apps, as they need collective participation to make an impact.

Definition of the word, traitor:
1: one who betrays another's trust or is false to an obligation or duty
2: one who commits treason
Definition of the word, treason:
1: the offense of attempting by overt acts to overthrow the government of the state to which the offender owes allegiance or to kill or personally injure the sovereign or the sovereign's family
2: the betrayal of a trust : TREACHERY
Two words I’d like to see in greater use: traitor and treason. Let’s call it what it is. Not just from history books or old novels or spy films anymore.

…as many more people are doing deep dives into info about technofeudalism, etc for the first time. Does anyone know lists of recommendations compiled by experts? Can’t seem to find anything thorough. Obviously, pacing is good!

During the convoys, there were many people infiltrating far right spaces online, and journalists covering them. I seem to recall mental health guidelines for well-meaning people doing this, as this sort of immersion can break your brain. Thinking this info would be helpful for all of us now…
