On Saints Row we had a debug npc named Skinballs (lol) that was literally just four spheres wrapped in different shades of skin texture so we could test lighting for different skin tones during development. But teams need to plan for that kind of testing with intentionality, and not enough do.

i hate how much animal crossing stopped being living a cute second life and became more about playing the sims build mode, i will never enjoy a game like wild world ever again :(

Drawing of rats at an art gallery where all of the paintings are stamps. Is the scale right? It is not. Rats aren’t that small; stamps aren’t that big. But drawing it to scale wouldn’t be as cute. The rats are bipedal and interested. One rat scratches their chin. A parent rat holds their child’s hand and looks where the kid is pointing. An elderly white rat with red eyes and glasses squints at a leaflet. In the foreground, two rats sit cuddled on a bench, their bags on the ground beside them. The stamps are vintage USPS designs: postcard-style images from Hawaii and Nevada, a cherub with LOVE across it, a diagram of the arnica flower, a racing stagecoach (this is what the kid rat is looking at), an old-timey baseball plater, Marianne from France and a Spanish stamp with a painted harbour scene.

I felt lazy for using images of real stamps but don’t worry: it was pretty time consuming to erase and then draw round all the lil scalloped edges. I bet there’s a quicker way but I am unskilled. I like that my red-eyed rat has glasses #petrats #rattober #cuteart
