Fantastic home-based health service in French village when grandson tore a finger needing 16 stitches. Dr prescribed antibiotic and ant-inflammatory plus dressings applied by nurse. No need for further clinic visit - local nurse visited at home every 2 days.

Tragic death of Caroline Arnold: effects of poverty in VictorianΒ Birmingham A late night by the fire Caroline Arnold was just 12 when she burnt to death at home on May 11th, 1857, the whole event being witnessed by her elder sister, Ann. An intelligent girl of 14, Ann was a key witness at the inquest. She gave the Birmingham coroner, Dr John Birt Davies, a clear description of the terrible event.

I meant to say Mishal Hussein of course. She was the BBC’s best ever interviewer. Emma Barnett doesn’t come close.

Emma Barnett is an infuriating interviewer. The BBC should urge Mishal Barnett to return. She’s so much better!

This one is for all of those who said there was no point in Labour trying to deepen EU ties with the red lines in place. Economically, there's a lot to gain from regulatory alignment.

Why? Because that gives companies the predictably to invest in the UK.

Whatever institutions you are part of, do suggest this diversifying to include BlueSky between Jan 3rd and Jan 20th.

It is a useful way to at least hedge against erratic platform performance doing further damage to reputation, user experience as was the case with Twitter/X in the UK in 2023-24

America's richest 10% now hold 60% of the nation's wealth.

The bottom half of America? It holds just 6%.

Wealth inequality is eating this country alive.

Less crime, less hospital visits, less suffering and even including the cost of the house, LESS COST than the UK/USA method of abandoning them on the streets.

I’ve heard about 2 β€˜referral management’ services in the past week that are clearly designed to keep patients away from waiting lists. Problem is, the experience of the patients I’ve heard from has been appalling. Reminder: It is possible to provide *person centred care and reduce waiting lists*
