Pale slightly yellow-brown tinted oyster mushrooms growing like shelves on a birch, seen from below. It’s a stemless gilled mushroom, slightly wavy at the rim.

Looking at the number of likes, I should only post photos of roses. But it’s #MushroomMonday so here’s a nice oyster mushroom I saw the other day.

I was a huge fan of Asterix when I was a kid and always dreamed of seeing one of these. I still haven’t seen one in real life, not even in Bretagne. The ones we saw there were inside mounds, and signs said it’s how the dolmen in Bretagne originally were. Have these been inside mounds too?

The program (Garmin Coach) creates and adjusts the workouts automatically, so I have no say. I’m only on the first week, and I guess it will keep pushing until my pace drops a lot or until I select “very hard” when it asks how it was.

In 2022 the deer actually left one bud on our rose. When I saw it had opened, I had to snap a photo before they ate it too, even though it was raining.

And what is it with digital cameras and certain hues of red? It’s like they overload the sensor.

The Hågelby mansion and farm were built by the founder of Ericsson (as in the phones and telephony systems) after he had retired and sold his shares, at the ripe age of 60. It is now a publicly owned park with a cafe and restaurant.

Germanic languages are very confusing when compared 😄 Our snakes (orm) are your worms, and all English snakes are our grass snakes (snok). And apparently you have the legless lizard confused with either a worm or an actual species of snake (we have a snake called hasselorm, ”hazel snake”).

Oh so you have the same as Danish slange. In Swedish “slang” means hose. So for you it’d sound like we think the garden hose is a snake 😄

Is “worm” snakes or worms i Dutch? That is, are you as confused as the English speakers who call it neither a snake nor a lizard, but a worm? To me a worm is a completely different thing from a snake, even though the word itself is cognate to our word for snake (orm).

Yeah, I was way too old when I was told the “copper snake” (common slow worm according to wikipedia) is a lizard and not a snake, so I haven’t really changed my opinion. But I do call it by its correct name “copper lizard” because I’m an adult and that’s what adults do.

I didn’t know capybaras can get any cuter than they already are 😍

Last year the city council put notes on boats left on public land that they must be moved within a year or they’ll be considered abandoned and be removed. When the year was up the city collected the abandoned boats and gave them away for free to new owners. Maybe this was one of those.
