For 18 years, I had a silver tabby named Yeti; he’s in my profile picture. At one point I was explaining Runequest’s notion of heroquesting to a friend and had to make up some mythology on the spot, so the story had a “mithril tabby” in it. And I needed a unique username.

I have often wished that games like Final Fantasy had a movie mode where you could watch the entire story (the conversations, not just the cut scenes) with a few token fights to show off the graphics and enemy types.
