Wow! This is appalling. 2 years worth of extensive evidence β€˜lost’ in our case, resulting in colossal detriment. Judge personally apologised, saying the court system had failed us, but offered no explanation. Now this!

Beautiful. Thank you for keeping me in thought, Gaz. Nature is indeed a miracle, a provider of comfort and so much more. Seeking solace in the rain this morning, welcoming the gentleness of its message

I have little presence here but would like to thank those who have kindly made contact over the past 3 days following the death of my precious little sister, Mary. She meant the world to me. My heart is broken.

Health service, not wealth service, sticker

Research has found that privatisation of health services reduces quality of care.

@franbaum.bsky.social‬ and colleagues look at how the concept of "enshittification" applies to health services and their decline with privatisation

It’s one of those doors that draws you in as if it has cast a spell. Decorative metalwork on the door at Selby Abbey, Yorkshire. This has to be one of my all time favourite doors. Worth waiting for the light to move around and frame it.

'Automated systems of state-
corporate decision-making' In this context, there's no shortage of tech corporates branching out into health consultancy, and health corporations rebranding themselves as information companies. For example, Optum's data- driven products are being used in the NHS to remodel healthcare, allocate funds and workers, influence decisions about referrals and prescriptions, and predict which will be
the most 'expensive', highest 'risk' patients). Palantir is another company that has
supplied the NHS with technology to 'support ... patient/citizen risk scoring and
stratification'.

I’m seeing a lot of the Clever Health Insider Commentariat doing a lot of brain waggling about the NHS England closure like β€œoooh who’s gonna make the decisions if we cut NHSE & ICBs” and it’s like they haven’t noticed where all the smart Β£ has been piling into for years (Optum=United Health, btw)

OH returning home from Cairo tonight. I’m layered in Parfum D’Empire’s Cuir Ottoman, tweeds & jazzy new Aran waistcoat. Roses & seathistle are nicely arranged, sateen sheets freshly laundered, & herbed Welsh lamb is gently cooking. Wondering to self…Stepford wife or hopeless romantic πŸ₯°
