I think it's important to make the linkage plain that "invasion" rhetoric was a tool of the blood and soil far-right to pollute mainstream discourse. Too many people where I live think it's a perfectly normal, non-racist way to talk of the issue.

I think one of the greatest capers of the 21st century is how the far-right has managed to launder its vile ideology into "moderate, bipartisan" policy ideas that a great deal of suburban America now sees as normal.

1000% this. A good reminder that the only effect of Trump 1.0 was reducing *legal* immigration.

Another ICE "assault" case unravels. Border Patrol and ICE are arresting US citizens and then after they find out that they are US citizens, they are charging them with "assault" to justify their actions. This is clearly DHS policy at this point. We've seen it repeatedly now.
