Three right wing parties are leading in the polls. The country deserves an alternative to vote for, whether you like it or not.

The Hill of Dreams is such a strange little thing. Slow and meandering yet it’s a book that has stayed with me since I read it. The feel of the book that is, as opposed to the character or narrative.

A nice and peaceful morning at Long Nab. Three grey seals in the bay, a Quail calling from the fields above and hares absolutely everywhere.

Heartbeat country today. Nostalgia overload for those Sunday evenings, clinging to the weekend before another week of school. Viewing figures peaked at 18 million, which in my opinion gives the show a decent claim to being a British cultural institution. Wholesome
And underrated.

β€˜It makes me sick!’ How the French impressionists went from β€˜lunatics’ to luminaries The National Gallery of Victoria’s new show French Impressionism celebrates the likes of Monet, Renoir, Degas, Morisot and Pissarro, who painted in the face of public outrage

Seeing the work of the Impressionists at the MusΓ©e d'Orsay in Paris was a formative experience for me. Felt like I β€˜got’ art for the first time, and it was no longer an upper-class thing that was out of reach for someone like me. Long live the lunatics.

β€˜Half the tree of life’: ecologists’ horror as nature reserves are emptied of insects A new point in history has been reached, entomologists say, as climate-led species’ collapse moves up the food chain even in supposedly protected regions free of pesticides

When warnings of Insectageddon were issued a few years ago, there was widespread denial. Less so now. It's devastating. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

#PoetrySky this great collection is a book you CAN judge by the cover. Every bit as bleary-eyed and melancholy as the image and title suggest, but free from the cliches of lush romanticism as the writer pieces together fractured shards of memory and self shattered by life at the bottom of a bottle.

A while ago a lovely German man appeared at our church. He came a few times to look around during our Saturday opening hours, before asking if the piano abandoned in the corner worked.

I told him it was horrendously out of tune, and the cathedral piano tuner had deemed it not worth sorting out.
