The High Court has ruled that the ban of Palestine Action under terrorism legislation is unlawful - but it remains in place for now. In a massive blow to the Home Office, three senior judges said that while Palestine Action use criminality to promote its aims its activities had not crossed the very high bar to make it a terrorist organisation. The judges however ruled the ban must remain in place until a further hearing later in February as to what should happen next - including the possibility of a government appeal.

How much of our ££ are this government going to waste appealing, so they can carry on labelling pensioners with placards, “terrorists”? For shame.

This government needs a total reset. The enemy is not ordinary citizens with placards. It is people so rich they think normal rules don’t apply to them.

I share this only to help those contemplating whether to tweet "I support Palestine Action".

We told them proscribing Palestine Action was a terrible idea. A terrible, unlawful idea, as it turns out.

Thanks to extreme process-as-punishment measures, many people have suffered greatly for defying this ban, even if they have not been convicted, or will now have their convictions quashed.
It all points to a very grim conclusion: democracy in the UK is being stifled.
