It seems three devs, whose langs were Rust, PHP, and Haskell, contested the love of a woman.

“Please use me.” The transformation of Peace Pilgrim shows that self-interest is not the paramount concern of humans, which also means that Peace’s altruism, as well as L.V.S.’s nihilistic malice, are not alien to the rest of humanity—only extreme. What motivates humans more deeply than self-interest is the desire to bridge the gap between what is perceived by the senses and what is perceived inwardly, by faith. Peace Pilgrim bridged this gap on foot. She did it by dedicating her life to a pilgrimage of service, modelling what she believed to be the ascending path of humanity toward peace. We can speculate that L.V.S., in his act of destruction, also bridged an inner gap. By murdering others, he crossed over from a stale, hollow world of greed and facade into something naked and bloody. He expressed what was in him to express: a gnawing, senseless emptiness.
