So I basically keep the account there as an archive, to notify people of posts here, and some random short posts
I do the vast majority of my posting here on Bluesky.
People ask why I keep my account there, and it’s for a few reasons.
1. There is a lot of data available to people by searching my posts. You know how long my threads are. People would lose a resource archive.
It looks like the feature might have been paused. I’m wondering why.
👉 They think they might get sued?
👉 Accounts fleeing?
👉 Powerful people funding bot farms told Musk to stop?
👉 They plan to blackmail people into paying to HIDE their location?
I’m in the U.S. which is huge, with a large population, but I imagine if you were in a tiny place, it might be concerning.
I know, big surprise, I’m am where I said I am. Honestly, my accent could probably be used as authentication.

I don’t know what is happening with this “about this account” thing over on Twitter.
I didn’t even know it was coming, and it seems like something that would open Twitter to litigation, because people didn’t have the option to opt out.
